Letter from the President

Happy New Year! I hope that this newsletter, finds everyone happy and relaxed after the crazy holiday rush. This year I would like to take a few minutes to touch base on the many projects your club has been working on.

The new rifle range is now complete. All members wanting to use the rifle range will have to come to the club house to sign the new “Rifle Range Rules and Regulations” and then obtain the combination to the gate lock. The lock will be placed on the gate February 12th 2012. Everyone is reminded to close the gate upon entering and leaving. (It is your duty to keep non-members from entering the range area.) We will not tolerate anyone shooting at the ground, trees or any other undesignated areas. The club provides backstops and targets; please only shot at these areas. Also, there is no reason for anyone to be on the range after dark. Furthermore, please refrain from bringing guests to the shooting range, due to our insurance carrier only members and their immediate families are allowed to shoot on our ranges. Anyone found in violation of the “Range Rules” may be suspended indefinitely.

The archery range is nearly complete, and can now be used. We still need to install bow holders, and this should be done in the near future.

Please be reminded that ALL non-members must sign the guest book. It is the member’s duty to make sure that their guests sign the guest book; anyone 18 or older is considered a guest.

New this year, the club kitchen now closes at 4:00pm; this is to give the kitchen volunteers time to clean up before the club closes at 6:00pm. The kitchen volunteers are always looking for more help in the kitchen; cooking & cleaning. Remember the club pays for the meal; (reasonable meals to feed our army of members) we can always use more volunteers to do the cooking. Desserts are always welcome. If you are interested in cooking a meal please talk to any of the officers or trustees.

Dues are now payable to Ann, and remember your dues must be current to participate in all events held by the club. This includes and is not limited to the book, fishing derby, cash bash, and all regular activities. Also, do not forget to give or send your recipes for the PSHO Cookbook. Finally, do not forget nominations for officers and trustees begin January 8th, and continue on February 12th, with election of officers on March 4th. If you think you might be interested in running for any position please stop by the club and talk to an officer or trustee. Any member being nominated must be present for the nomination.

In closing, I would like to take one more moment and give a special shout out to the members who dedicated extra time to complete the rifle and archery ranges. Please if you see Leo Deiter, Jack Heffley, Steve Johnson, Tony Liddick, Jim Neibert, or Ron Wevodau please give them a special thanks. Also, do not forget Harry Cangioli who spear-headed the ranges and designed the pavilion. And last but not least Bill Strayer, who for years has dedicated his time to maintaining our ranges. If I forgot to mention anyone by name I am truly sorry. Finally, I would like to thank ALL volunteers for their time and dedication.

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                Keith R Tobias, President
